Losing files that you didn't mean to delete is a pain in the neck! It happens to all of us, and it wastes time, money and resources that could be far better employed somewhere else.
But the opposite problem is even worse! This is when you have sensitive data on your harddisk that you need to have permanently erased - old staff records, financial data, etc. - and you don't have any way of deleting it securely.
If your PC gets stolen or an unauthorised person gets access in some other way, this might cost you more than time and money. It could result in you winding up in court!
